We're excited to introduce you to Taylor of City and Country Baby! Taylor is a long time friend of Baby CZ, and began writing her blog about 6 months ago. She just launched a brand new site and we love the beautiful new layout. Taylor wrote a little something for us about planning a birthday party for her boys, Jack and Noah. Check it out below, and ready more from Taylor about "fashion and lifestyle in Manhattan, The Hamptons and on vacations around the world" here.
My husband and I always enjoy organizing a good party. So naturally, when it came time to celebrate Noah and Jack’s 1st and 3rd birthday we couldn’t wait to pull out all the bells and whistles. With both birthdays falling within ten days of each other, we are lucky they're still too young to protest a "combined" celebration.
We started our planning with the guest list. How oh how were there so many names on the list? A joint party definitely didn't mean it would be small.
Once we finalized the list, we had to find a space that was big enough to accommodate our guests, the entertainment, the children etc. The Atelier Building’s Sky Lounge was perfect. The space was not only large enough for our guests to comfortably fit, but the breathtaking 360 degree views of New York City helped take the party to the next level -- and the ice rink on the east deck was an added bonus.
Next, we had to decide on a theme. After polling Jack, and overruling a few of his “too bright-too loud” suggestions we agreed on Winnie the Pooh. After all, Pooh Bear, Piglet, Eeyore and all other friends from the 100 Acre Woods are classic characters that easily appeal to babies, kids and adults alike.
Finally, the details. I love the details. For invitations, thank you notes, and paper decor we used Print Icon in Chelsea, for the two most delicious and gorgeously designed cakes we used Cake Hero in Brooklyn, The Little Maestros performed, and Kristin Gray Photography captured every moment. Tea & Sympathy catered the event, and our bartender mixed Mimosas for the adults guaranteeing that everyone had a good time!
So much thought and planning goes into these little boys’ birthday parties, and they are over in the blink of an eye.To see photos and read more about Jack and Noah’s Winnie the Pooh birthday party visit my blog www.cityandcountrybaby.com.
